Dear friends of the racing pigeon sport,

Again, a year is drawing to its end and it was not an easy one for many of us. Privation taught us facts which really matter: Friends, family, health – and this is exactly what we wish you during this Christmas time.

Together, we are hopefully looking into the future, and I wish to tell you as I already did last year: Although we do not yet see the way, it is there and we will walk it together as we used to do before. The homing pigeon community is not only a group of enthusiasts of the same hobby, above all, it is characterised by friendly relations and social cohesion.

I wish you, your families and friends a truly contemplative Christmas and an opportunity to enjoy that moment and a healthy, happy New Year 2022.

Yours in sport,
Irma Kreutzfeldt

Dear readers,

It was exactly at this time of the recent year, when I had to inform you with a heavy heart about the fact that the International PigeonMarket 2020 could not take place. The heart did not get lighter, but I will have to repeat this now for the International PigeonMarket 2021 because of the persistent and large planning incertainty.
I am shocked and deeply disappointed, but there will be no International PigeonMarket in Kassel this year either. Of course, this is owed to a situation in which we have been for more than a year now. This year, we cannot be optimistic as usual about the organisation of this event which means so much to all of us and is more than only a special fair.
The usual and social gathering in every October had kept us together as friends of homing pigeons, allowing a lot of excellent conversations and meeting long-lost friends. The atmosphere of the International PigeonMarket and the merry reunions constitute the PigeonMarket. We are afraid that this could not take place in compliance with the Corona requirements.
The cancellation of the Munich Oktoberfest was already a clue – nevertheless, we had dicussions with exhibitors who explained their views to us, and two thirds of them were sceptical that a successful organisation of the International Pigeon Market 2021 could be held successfully without any restrictions by corona rules for all parties involved. Also, the possibility of another wave in autumn also adds to this uncertainty in all of our considerations.
I am aware of your disappointment with this cancellation and wish to assure you that we are feeling the same. Nevertheless, Kassel either is or is not at all; a Kassel „light” is not conceivable and Kassel „light” is not necessary. We all need a new and difficult-to-gain confidence to obtain optimism that the International Pigeon Market 2022 will be our long-awaited and more than deserved reunion, a party of superlatives! And all of us of the International Pigeon Market are very much looking forward to welcoming you again in the coming year at last.

Best regards, Irma Kreutzfeldt

Dear sport friends,

another year is drawing to a close. And as usual at the end of each year – but especially at the end of this year – we reflect on what really counts. The peaceful season awaits us with silence, maybe some snow and precious time with our loved ones. At Christmas it’s not about ‚Glühwein‘ at the Christmas market, not about the Christmas parties in the company or club, it’s also not about gifts, because the greatest gift we already have is time for our friends, our families and ourselves. Together we will manage this year to capture the true spirit of Christmas and to remeind us oft he past Christmas and the magic that they left behind.

I sincerely wish you, your friends and your families a Merry Christmas with an eye for what is really important, as well as a healthy, successful New Year 2021.

Yours in sport,

Irma Kreutzfeldt

1st International Online PigeonMarket

It was a leap into cold water and uncharted territory for our entire team, but we are proud and happy to report that the 1st International Online PigeonMarket was and is a complete success.

On the first weekend alone we were able to record over 150.000 clicks from 49 nations and that fills us with confidence that we have created an interesting time for you. By the way, you can visit the Online Fair until November 24th, don’t iss to experience the 1st International Online PigeonMarket.

The decision has been made:

This year there will be no International PigeonMarket in Kassel/Germany. Because of the unpredictable developments due to the corona crisis, especially as trade fair planning is concerned, we unfortunately see no other option. There is no planning security and no statements from the state authorities that could encourage us to hold the event, the opposite is he case – many big trade fairs have already been cancelled till end of 2020.
This decision was very difficult for us, since we have been passionate about organizing the exhibition in Kassel successfully for 30 years. But we do not want to expose you as an exhibitor or our many international visitors to a health hazard, and all protective measures would also make impossible an entertaining and happy atmosphere as we know and love it.
Nevertheless, we are optimistic about the coming year, we will ‘keep the ball‘ and concentrate all our energy on preparing the International PigeonMarket on October 23rd and 24th, 2021.
Stay healthy and optimistic that we will overcome this difficult situation.

We’ll meet again!
Yours in sport,

Exhibition Management
